As your little girl grows, she will want to have a say in her room decor so this may be your one chance to create the room of your dreams. It is not necessary, however, to have a theme in order to create a beautiful nursery.

Furniture

A baby girl's nursery will need a crib; all other furniture in the room is optional. You may want a changing table, rocking chair, dresser for clothes, toy boxes, and other items but these are not a must. You can have a closet organizer that holds clothes and other important items. You can choose colored furniture, white or wood. It is up to you.

Accessories

Making your baby girl's room uniquely yours can be done with the simple addition of accessories. Wall hangings, photos, stuffed animals, lamps, rugs and other items can bring in color or a theme.

The most important thing to remember when creating a baby girl nursery is that it needs to be not only beautiful, it needs to be functional. This is where your baby is going to sleep and it needs to provide a relaxed, quiet atmosphere conducive to a restful night or nap. This means being able to close out the light with appropriate shades and curtains.
